A protocol guide for an environmental management system audit: En49-24/1-52E

The purpose of this Protocol Guide is to present an audit protocol which can be used to assess an environmental management system (EMS). The protocol is based on the International Standard ISO/DIS 14001--Environmental Management Systems -- Specification with Guidance for Use, since this ISO Standard addresses those elements of an EMS that can be objectively audited. The Guide also provides practical help on recommended audit techniques, as well as specific guidance on the particular aspects of an EMS that an Auditor should look for during an EMS audit.--Executive summary
