This booklet describes Canada’s initiatives to promote China’s legal and judicial reforms in its effort to join a rules-based international system. Focusing on CIDA’s objective of building good governance in China, the booklet describes CIDA’s approach to offering expertise in law reform; human rights; and democratic development. Gives examples of projects in the areas of institutional development and regulatory processes (Canada–China Judicial Linkages Project) and the implementation of international agreements (WTO Capacity Building Project).
