The main purpose is to provide health professionals, researchers and policy-makers with detailed information regarding the incidence and mortality of the most common types of cancer by age, sex, time period and province or territory. It is hoped that these data will stimulate new research and assist decision-making and priority-setting processes at the individual, community, provincial/territorial and national levels. The monograph is also used by educators, the media and members of the public with an interest in cancer.
