"Environment Canada's publication entitled 'Recommendations for the Design and Operation of Wood Preservation Facilities, 2004: Technical Recommendations Document' (2004 TRD), identifies the design features and operating practices that the wood preservation sector must implement in order to control the release from their facilities of those substances that have been identified as toxic under the terms of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. ... The objective of this document is to provide Canadian wood preservation plants with the information they need to prepare IPs to consistent standards, based on best available technology.
