Census and estimated populations of Canada and the provinces by sex and age group, 1931-1948 .: CS84-D-51/1948-2-PDF
This bulletin contains figures of the population of Canada and the Provinces by sex and age for the years 1931 to 1948. The figures for 1931 and 1941 are those of the Census. For the other years they are estimates calculated from the Census figures, the births and deaths in each year, known migration into and out of the country, and estimates of interprovincial migration derived from the 1941 Census, the ration card counts during the war and the post-war quarterly surveys of the Canadian labour force.
