"[This document] was designed to enable interested users to access and manipulate the microdata file for the 1980 Current Population Profile. The Current Population Profile was conducted as a supplement to the December 1980 Labour Force Survey. Its primary objective was to identify and characterize recent in-migrants to Alberta and British Columbia. Recent in-migrants were defined as those persons 15 years of age and over who had moved to the province in or since June 1 1976,and who were still residents of Alberta or British Columbia during the week of December 8-14, 1980." -- Introduction and Survey Objectives.
