The Rural and Remote Care Component (RRCC) of the Innovations in Rural and Community Health Initiative (IRCHI), established by the Government of Canada in 1999, was designed to promote and improve the integration and accessibility of health services in rural and remote communities and to address relevant workforce issues in ensuring the effective delivery of health services in these communities.
