Patterns of employment, unemployment and poverty .: Z1-1991/1-41-109E-PDF

“In this study, data from the Aboriginal Peoples Survey and the 1991 Census of Canada are used to examine several aspects of the education, training, labour market behaviour and business ownership patterns of Canada's Aboriginal population. In addition to presenting an extensive descriptive profile of the above dimensions of the population, the report presents the results of series of statistical analyses which are designed to explore the role of a variety of factors that are believed to influence the participation and success of Aboriginal peoples in educa-tion and training activities, in the labour market, and in starting and operating a business. Estimates of future growth in the Aboriginal labour force age group and the relationship of this growth to projected labour demand are also provided in the report"--Part one, Summary, p. v.
