Given this situation, numerousinitiatives both technical and operational are required to harmoniously provide a level ofconfidence in sonar prediction under practical conditions. Some initiatives and tools thatare being utilized include the NATO Multi-Static Tactical Planning Aid (MSTPA) and the Environmental Modelling Manager (EMM). The latter is embedded in a developmental version of the Canadian Maritime Acoustic Processing System (MAPS).
