5203 |a"The origin of massive ground ice in the Klondike District, Yukon Territory is examined in an exposure in the Hunker Creek area. Stratigraphic and ice cryotexture data and ice petrofabric analyses suggest that a segregation origin is not appropriate for the massive clear ice body (1 - 3 m in thickness) . A residual snowbank origin is considered and found to be the most consistent with the nature of the body"--Abstract.
