“A description is given of an equipment for use in differential thermal analysis. The equipment, which was designed and built in the Mines Branch, is capable of operating at high sensitivity and stability at temperatures up to 1600°C in air or in any controlled atmosphere at 1 atm. pressure, or in vacuum up to 1250°C. Details are given of the engineering specifications of the components and of precautions to be taken in order to obtain satisfactory operation. Typical DTA curves, showing the types of result that can be obtained with the equipment, are included. Possible sources of supply of the various components are quoted"--Synopsis, p. i.
