5203 |a"Annual counts of numbers of individuals enrolled in various levels of education (e.g. elementary, secondary, university, college, trade/vocational) are available for most countries. For some countries these counts are available for each age (i.e. by single year of age or by age) whereas for others counts are produced for all ages combined. This document gives several methods for estimation of enrolment by single year of age from total enrolment. The choice among methods depends on the historical enrolment data available. Four methods are presented for estimation of elementary/secondary enrolment by age, and three methods for estimation of post-secondary (university, college and trade/vocational) enrolment by age. For all methods it is assumed annual age-specific population estimates are available, as are total enrolment counts for each level of education"--Abstract.
