520 |a"In Canada, Round-leaved Greenbrier (Smilax rotundifolia) occurs in Ontario (Great Lakes Plains population) and in southwestern Nova Scotia (Atlantic population). This recovery strategy addresses only the Great Lakes Plains population which is listed as Threatened under both Schedule 1 of SARA and the Ontario Endangered Species Act 2007 (ESA). The population and distribution objectives are to: maintain the species’ distribution (including any new local populations that are discovered) and to maintain or, where necessary and technically and biologically feasible, increase abundance, at the 16 extant and presumed extant local populations. The broad strategies to be taken to address the threats to the survival and recovery of Round-leaved Greenbrier are presented in the section on Strategic Direction for Recovery”--Executive summary, p. iv.
