Changes in sediment types and invertebrate fauna in the intertidal mudflats of the Bay of Fundy between 1977 and 1994 / by Philippa C.F. Shepherd, Valerie A. Partridge and Peter W. Hicklin.: CW69-5/237E-PDF

"In 1977-1979, ten intertidal mudflats in Minas Basin and Chignecto Bay were studied to determine the invertebrate species composition and species' abundances on each flat as well as differences in sediment types (substrate particle sizes) which might account for the variations found between the mudflats. The same investigations were carried out in 1994 and the findings were compared to the results obtained in 1977-1979 in order to confirm qualitative observations that considerable changes had occured in substrate types which might be associated with observed reductions in invertebrate abundances"--Abstract.
