The question, whether asbestos ingested with drinking water is harmful, has not yet been resolved. This report presents background information on the history of asbestos/cement and asbestos/cement pipe; on technology comprising raw materials, the asbestos/cement matrix, manufacturing processes, specifications, properties and uses of asbestos/cement pipe; and on related economic and statistical data.
