5203 |a"The report investigates antenna characterization using the singularity expansion method (SEM) in both time and spatial-frequency domains. The motivation is to obtain the radar cross section (RCS) of targets through new and efficient methods. The investigation covers three target types: dipole (thin-wire), u-strip patch and helical antennas. Each target’s features are determined using the temporal SEM approach and also by the newly developed approach antenna current Green’s function (ACGF) in spatial-frequency domain. The temporal SEM works by inspecting the time domain field representation within a specific time window. In contrast, the ACGF approach is applied on the targets characteristic current (surface current due to special excitation). Both methods are applied on the three mentioned targets to validate the concept"--Abstract, page i.
