"In the past 10 years, the Department of Canadian Heritage has had the opportunity to survey the Canadian population on different occasions (TNS-2012, Vox Pop Labs 2018) on topics related to their appreciation of Canada’s two official languages. These surveys targeted the general Canadian population with an effort to better understand their views and attitudes towards official languages. The current survey targets and oversamples Canadians 18 years of age and over from official-language minority. For the purpose of this study, minority status was established through the combination of province of residence and the respondent’s main official language"--Executive summary, page 5.
