Presents the history of the Research Branch of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) for the years 1986 to 2011. It provides a short summary of the first 100 years of Federal agricultural research, followed by a thorough exposition of the history of the past 25 years. It documents the evolution of the governance of Research Branch itself as well as the history of each of the research sites in existence in 1986. It explains how these multiple locations changed to become the Research Branch of 2011, with its nineteen Research Centres. It also presents a list of research highlights for each site, summarizing their large and numerous scientific achievements.
