"These Proceedings summarize the relevant discussions and key conclusions that resulted from a Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Canadian Science Advisory Secretariat (CSAS) Regional Advisory meeting held on April 19th, 2012 at the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo, BC. One working paper focusing on recommendations for critical habitat for Speckled Dace (Rhinichtys osculus) was presented for peer review. In-person and web-based participation included DFO Science and Ecosystem Management branches staff, and external participants from the Province of BC, the forestry industry and independent scientists. The conclusions and advice resulting from this review will be provided in the form of a Science Advisory Report (SAR) providing advice to the DFO species at risk program to inform the eventual identification of critical habitat for Speckled Dace"--Summary.
