"Guidance documents are meant to provide assistance to industry and health care professionals on how to comply with governing statutes and regulations. They also serve to provide review and compliance guidance to staff, thereby ensuring that mandates are implemented in a fair, consistent and effective manner. ... This guidance document supports implementation of the Plain Language Labelling (PLL) Regulations for non-prescription drugs by outlining approaches intended to provide consumers with access to on-line information presented in a standardised, mobile-friendly format that can be easily located, read and understood"--p. i and p. 6.
