Consumption of containers and other packaging supplies by the manufacturing industries

Abstract

The latest issue contains the article "Consumption of packaging products by the manufacturing industries, portrait and trends 1999" by Étienne Saint-Pierre. Expenditures on packaging products by manufacturing industries in 1997 were relatively stable compared to the previous year. Various trends observed over the last several years have continued, such as the diminishing cost of packaging products as a percentage of the cost of all materials and supplies, or the increased popularity of plastic containers. This article will outline various trends observed since the start of the decade, and provide a portrait of the current situation.
