Abstract
In May 1991, Statistics Canada conducted the Household Environment Survey to
measure household actions that have, or are perceived to have, positive or negative
impacts on the environment. The survey provides baseline information to use
in measuring progress towards sound environmental practices at the household
level. The subjects examined include recycling and waste reduction practices,
energy and water conservation practices, the use of recycled products, and the
use and disposal of potentially hazardous household substances.
