"For this project, the Injury Prevention Centre was asked to conduct an environmental scan of the existing, and where possible, the emerging federal, provincial and territorial injury-related legislation addressing the safety of children and youth in Canada. As well, they have done a review of the published literature reporting on the effectiveness of these legislative interventions in Canada and abroad. Rather than attempt to cover all existing injury prevention strategies, the Injury Prevention Centre has focused on legislation which encompasses a broad range of "passive measures."--Preface, p. 5 of 94.
