Cover image

From 2007 to 2011, between 22 and 27 lobster fishers from the Gaspé (Quebec) collected data on lobster on a daily basis throughout the fishing season. The objectives of the study were to describe the spatio-temporal abundance of different categories of lobster (commercial, COM, two groups of pre-recruits, PRE1 and PRE2, and berried females, FO) along the Gaspé Peninsula and to develop a recruitment index to provide short-term forecasts (1-2 years) of the abundance of commercial lobsters that will constitute the landings.
