"The CDB is intended to support the financial security of current and future generations of working-age Canadians with disabilities. The CDB is an income-tested benefit that aims to fill a gap in the social safety net between the Canada Child Benefit and Old Age Security by supplementing existing disability support programs. The CDB is a key commitment and is a cornerstone of Canada's Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP). The DIAP is a blueprint for change to make Canada more inclusive for persons with disabilities"--Introduction, page 4.
