The management and conservation of the marine environment and marine resources increasingly requires the synthesis of spatial data from a range of physical and biological features across a variety of scales. This report provides background methods (including formal metadata), issues faced in compiling geospatial resources, and caveats for subsequent usage for those data sets used in the Gulf of Maine portion of the Census project.
