Building the technological capacity of the voluntary sector : the Voluntary Sector Network Support Program (VolNet), National Advisory Committee report : C2-408/1999E-PDF

In the February 1998 Budget, the federal government announced the creation of the Voluntary Sector Network Support Program (VolNet) in order to expand the technological capacity of the voluntary sector. Fifteen million dollars over three years were allocated for the program, and a target of offering connectivity to 10 000 voluntary organizations by March 31, 2001, was established. Wanting to engage the participation of the voluntary sector in the development of the program, the federal government created the VolNet National Advisory Committee (VNAC) in June 1998. This report is the result of the committee's efforts to date.--Page 1
