The aim of this glossary is to standardize the financial and accounting terminology used in federal government publications in order to make these publications easier to understand. It is intended for all Senior Full-Time Financial Officers in departments and agencies, for those responsible for finance and accounting in the central agencies, and for anyone who is required to write or translate financial and accounting texts.--Introduction
