Sound recording, data tablesCS87-0008E-PDF

Provides data from the Sound Recording Survey in table format. The survey is a census of all record and label companies in Canada engaged in the production, leasing, licensing and sale of masters; and the release and/or sale of recordings in various formats (i.e., compact disc or CD, cassette tapes). The purpose of the publication is to disseminate data that will provide users with the information required for making corporate decisions, monitoring programs and reviewing policies. The tabulations focus on releases and sales of record and label companies during each financial year. Data are broken down by provinces (Quebec, Ontario, other), size of business, origins of financial control and Canadian content.
