Transportation in Canada, ... comprehensive review.: T1-23E-PDF
The Minister of Transport is required by Section 52 of the Canada Transportation Act, to table in Parliament before the end of May 2012, a report on the state of transportation in Canada for the year 2011. Section 52 of the CTA was amended in June 2007 which called for a brief overview of the state of transportation in Canada then an expanded comprehensive review every five years. This will be the first annual report under this mandate that includes among other things a comprehensive review of transportation, its role in the economy, Public Expenditures and Revenues, Gateways & Corridors and a Modal Perspective of all modes. The Annual Report of Transportation in Canada for 2011 is expected to carry approximately one hundred to two hundred pages in length and be supplemented with a statistical addendum consisting of anywhere from one hundred and seventy (170) to two hundred and fifty (250) tables, charts, illustrations or figures. This report will also carry a second addendum which will display various transportation statistics and maps, which will be produce by Transport Canada using the latest in Geographical Information System (GIS) technology.
