Landmark : RC21-1

This quarterly newsletter reports on the activities of the Commission and developments in specific claims (claims that arise from the breach or non-fulfilment of government obligations found in treaties, agreements, or statutes). The Commission is an independent body with authority to hold public inquiries into specific claims made by First Nations that have been rejected by the Government of Canada. The Commission also provides mediation to help First Nations and government, at any stage in negotiations, reach claim settlements.
