Mining and mineral processing operations in Canada, 1992M38-2/232

This report is a compilation of information relating to mines and processing facilities in Canada. This information was obtained primarily, as in previous years, by means of a questionnaire sent to all the companies concerned. The first part 'Metal and Industrial Mineral Mines and Processing Plants in Canada' lists significant information concerning metal mines and processing plants, industrial mineral mines and processing plants, and lime producers in Canada. This information includes, as of January 1, 1992, the name of the operator, location of the mine or plant, its capacity, processes, products and other details of special interest. The second part 'Metallurgical Works in Canada, Nonferrous and Precious Metals' lists the principal metallurgical works in Canada, as of January 1, 1992, that treat ores and concentrates of nonferrous and precious metals. Not listed are those companies that basically refine scrap and other secondary materials, foundries, base-bullion golf refineries associated with mines, and fabricating plants.--Foreword
