A type catalog for scientists doing revisionary work. This publication is intended to assist systematists throughout the world in locating valuable type specimens for revisionary research on brachyceran "Diptera". The "Brachycera" (exclusive of "Schizophora") portion of the collection contains 819 holotypes, 241 associated allotypes, 10 lectotypes, and 4 associated allolectotypes. In addition, 149 species are represented as syntypes. The original description of each taxon is referenced, including citation of valid lectotype designations. An addendum to Part 1 on the types of "Nematocera" is also included. Bilingual introduction, with Latin listings (notated in English).
