Cover image

The Combinatory Vocabulary of CAD/CAM in Mechanical Engineering (computer-aided design and manufacturing in machining) was established as part of the work program of the Réseau international de néologie et de terminologie (Rint). Rint publications deal with the French terminology used in advanced technical and scientific fields. For this reason, their source language is French and their target language is English. The primary purpose of this vocabulary is to compile the phraseology of a coherent set of mostly standardized French terms commonly used by specialists in the field. It includes concepts from informatics, computer graphics, design, modelling, numerical control, robotics and production. For use by language professionals such as translators, technical writers and terminologists, as well as by French-speaking CAD/CAM teachers, students and technicians.
