This glossary is the product of research work produced by a committee of terminologists and specialist translators from the Department of the Secretary of State of Canada, Spar Aerospace Limited and the Canadian Space Agency. It contains about 900 scientific and technical terms. The terminology used to describe the space station and its outer-space missions relates to a wide range of modern disciplines and sciences, from aerodynamics to the composition of materials, including such fields as informatics, electronics, thermodynamics, wave propagation and even medicine. The terminology associated with the space station per se, in particular with its physical components, space laboratories and the experiments to be conducted in them, as well as with the robot arm, its various modules and systems. Also included in this publication are the official designations of Canadian, European and NASA experiments and programs.
