Governance structure, corporate decision-making and firm performance in North America / by P. Someshwar Rao and Clifton R. Lee-Sing.: C21-24/7-1996

The primary objective of this study is to conduct an in-depth, firm-specific empirical analysis of the interaction between corporate governance, corporate decision-making, and corporate performance in Canada. In particular, by using extensive company data on Canadian and American firms, we will examine empirically the role of corporate governance structure in corporate decision-making and performance in Canada and compare the Canadian results with our findings for the American companies. Our secondary objective is to provide a general empirical background to the other studies in this volume, especially the qualitative studies dealing with specific issues of corporate governance.--Introduction
