A national identity card for Canada? / Chair: Joe Fontana.XC64-372/1-1-04

Cover image

This interim report is intended to help focus public discussion about the possibility of creating a national identity card. The report discusses what Canadians had to say about such cards, both in polls and in the hearings of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, and what the Committee discovered during research trips to the United States and Europe. It sets out the questions that the Committee wants answered before it can provide a definitive response on this matter.
