Strait of Georgia juvenile herring survey, September and October 2009 / by M. Thompson, C. Fort, and J. Schweigert. : Fs97-4/2921E-PDF
The main objective of the survey was to estimate the density and relative abundance of the juvenile herring population as a potential indicator of recruitment before they joined the spawning stock. In addition to recruitment prediction, the surveys have contributed to a better understanding of the distribution, abundance, and ecological role of herring in the Strait of Georgia.
