In this paper we have highlighted some of the historical forces and issues that initiated the call for reform of Canada's rape law, and the goals and expectations associated with the law reform. As well, the paper has described the research program developed to assess the impact of this major legislative initiative and some of the methodological challenges associated with the research project.--Page 25
