500 |a"Climatic data from the latest 30-year normal period (1961-1990) for 50 climatic stations in Ontario were used to determine Crop Heat Units (CHU) available for silage and grain corn production and for other heat-loving crops such as tomatoes, soybeans, edible beans and tobacco. Dates for starting and ending heat unit accumulations were estimated for each year at each location. Weekly accumulations after May 30 are presented for each year. Yearly data were subjected to probability analysis to determine availability of CHU at various risk levels. The probability that selected threshold levels of CHU are reached at each location was also computed. Results are presented in tabular form."--Summary.
