The purpose of this paper is to lay the foundation and the framework for assessing tourism markets of opportunity in the LAC Region. This, it is hoped, will lead to a better understanding and appreciation of the opportunities and pitfalls facing tourism marketers in this region. More so, this framework will provide private and public sector decision makers an early warning system to anticipate and avoid rising exposure to risky markets.--Introduction
