This review represents the first in an ongoing series of evaluations of collections management software for museums. The primary focus is to ensure that the software meets CHIN standards and allows for exporting data to the Canadian National Databases. This review is based upon intensive examinations of individual collections management software packages and the comments of the evaluators. Its intention is to outline the suitability of specific software to museum discipline, collections size, museum functions, and hardware and software environment.
