This report discusses Canada’s participation in a project to define criteria and means of achieving environmentally sustainable transportation, initiated by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The Canadian component focuses on the Quebec City – Windsor Corridor, criteria on emissions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and volatile organic compounds. It looks at three possible solutions: changes in technology, changes in demand, or a combination of the two. Includes guidelines developed by OECD environment ministers.
