This manual promotes the lifecycle management of mercury-containing products—such as fluorescent lamps, thermometers, thermostats, and switches—at federal facilities. It provides guidance on developing a mercury inventory; assessing the risks associated with the inventory in the context of sustainable development, pollution prevention strategies, and legal requirements; reducing the inventory; and monitoring and reporting on the management of and reductions in mercury in the facility. Includes a list of mercury-containing products.
