Improving the health of Canadians / Issued jointly by Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Institute of Population and Public Health.: H118-14/2004-1E

This report is part of an ongoing inquiry into health patterns in Canada. It examines the social, environmental, and economic factors affecting Canadians’ health and the health implications of policy choices. Building on earlier reports from the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Advisory Committee on Population Health, the report reflects the view that health is socially determined, interconnected, complex, and changing. It examines such determinants as income and early childhood development and devotes chapters to Aboriginal Peoples’ health, and obesity.
