This report provides first order assessment of the environmental state of federal protected areas for wildlife and migratory birds. It identifies stressors, on a national scale and by region, and their relative importance toward reducing the ecological integrity of Canada’s protected areas. It presents the most threatened protected areas by region. Related studies that are discussed examine invasive plants, contaminants, ownership, and management plans, as well a comparison with a Parks Canada stressor survey.
