This publication presents an abridgement of a paper by Wren Resources Inc. that outlines the status of policy, legislation, and planning mechanisms for biodiversity conservation in Canada's forests and proposes a framework for classifying, assessing, and reporting on the extent of conservation lands in Canada. The publication also records national and international perspectives on the framework, called the web of conservation lands, gathered from a side event at which is was introduced during the XIIth World Forestry Congress in September 2003 in Québec City, Quebec.
