Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) : connecting Canada and the Asia-Pacific region: E2-482/2003

This booklet describes what APEC is and why it is important to Canada. It also lists how businesses can take an active role in APEC, Canada’s APEC priorities, and recent Canadian accomplishments in APEC. Founded in 1989, APEC is the main economic forum in the Asia-Pacific region. APEC’s agenda includes trade liberalization, business facilitation, counter-terrorism, and economic and technical cooperation.
