This report presents the results of a study that examined the barriers to high-performance sport for Francophone athletes in Canada. It discusses linguistic barriers to participation in comparison with financial and geographic barriers. The report also looks at coaching and provides an overview of the institutional infrastructure to assess the progress in bilingualism in sports. The 14 recommendations are directed at Sport Canada and cover both the short and long term.
