This is the product of a cross-Canada consultation to identify priorities for population and public health research and knowledge transfer, involving 400 stakeholders in these fields and conducted by the Institute of Population and Public Health and the Canadian Population Health Initiative. They recommended an increased focus on research and knowledge transfer in four areas: the impacts of income inequality; the interactions/pathways of health determinants; population level interventions; and the engagement and influence of policymakers. They also recommended making databases more accessible and integrated, and achieving greater consensus in research methodologies and standards of evidence
